Cybersquatting takes advantage of latest bank merger giants...

Astonishingly potential domain addresses for recent bank mergers are already being hoarded and sold online.

In "cybersquatting", likely addresses are bought cheaply in the hope of selling to the businesses involved, or as a medium for advertising.

Domain names for the merged Bank of America/Merrill Lynch as well as for Lloyds TSB/HBOS have been snapped up.

In one case, the domain name has already been listed on eBay, with the site directing visitors to the auction.

As reports of Lehman Brothers' intent to sell itself first surfaced last Friday, cybersquatters had already spotted Barclays, HSBC and Bank of America as potential buyers....

Why are women the top online researchers

More women are going to social sites for help

Around 71% of adult women in the UK are online at least once a month, 55% via home broadband. On average online women spend over nine hours a week using the internet. They're keen shoppers, with 48% having bought online in the past three months. Over half, 58%, depend on the internet for holiday/travel information. Rebecca Jennings, principal analyst at Forrester Research explains more.

British women have integrated the internet into their lives. But did you know that 31% of online women aged 35-44 read ratings and reviews regularly, that 26% trust consumer opinions, whereas only 10% trust brand sites, and that 12% of online 25-34-year-old women read blogs at least monthly.

Around 28% of them (70% of those aged 16-24) regularly visit social networks. In the past year, the percentage of online women aged 45-54 who watch video from other users over the web has increased from 5% to 11%....
