Blackberry claws back.
With the ongoing battle between Blackberry and the Apple, the US business magazine, Fortune, has reported that the makers of Blackberry, RIM (Researchers in Motion) have been ranked as 2009’s Fastest-growing firm. Blackberry has long been the established smartphone standard for corporate America, but since the birth of Apples iphone, it has been in battles with its competitor to win over its consumer base. The iphone became the leading consumer smartphone in its launch year of 2007. This year however, Blackberrys Curve outsold the iphone in the U.S.
With profits that have grown 84% over the last three years, while its revenues have expanded 77% and its total return at a healthy 45% RIM look set to keep growing. Apple was ranked 9th in the top ten fastest-growing techs list. The full top ten list published is as follows:
